The centre is an integral part of the whole school behaviour and inclusion policy.
The Enrichment Team consists of three members of staff who carry out various roles within the team. These roles have grown over the years and the team is recognised by pupils, staff and parents as a place for rigorous learning which supports pupils in mastering the challenge of school and raises self-esteem and motivation in a caring and positive atmosphere.
The Enrichment pupils visited Stanwick Lakes early in July and it was a great success; all the pupils had a great time and enjoyed themselves.
The activities they took part in were:
assault course
adventure trail
brass rubbing on the Roman Slabs
visited an Iron Age round house
adventure play area
picnic area
Stanwick Centre shop
It was a good day with the weather shining down and fun for all.
Support is given to pupils through enrichment group days, workshops groups for all years, and individual support for pupils who need assistance.
The team also looks after various after school activities providing homework, forest, military, and netball and dance clubs. (See enrichment activities in green on the club timetable)
There are also two areas where team building activities can take place.
The school Learning Mentor is part of the team and provides pastoral care to all pupils. She also assists the SENDCO.
