I am delighted to welcome you to Westfield and this special Open Evening Edition of our regular newsletter. For those parents and children who are visiting us we hope that you enjoy looking around our school. We are very proud of Westfield, its history, its place in the community and its excellent staff and pupils. This year, however, we have even more to be proud of with all of the refurbished and updated facilities that have been added to our school site. We are looking forward to meeting parents and showing you around our wonderful school at our Opening Evening on Tuesday 14th November.
Pupils and staff from Westfield School are celebrating after being awarded a Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment pack.
The pack contains 15 sets of football kit including tops, shorts and socks. Bradley Temperley Head of KS2 and PE said, “This is brilliant for our primary pupils to play in for team fixtures. Having a new set of kit is always good for the moral of the team and I hope that it will further inspire them to win their games.” The Kit and Equipment Scheme forms part of the Premier League Primary Stars offer to primary schools in England and Wales.
Year 2 enjoyed a walk around Queens Park this week as part of their topic of street detectives.
Keeping their eyes peeled they had the opportunity to identify a range of crossings, look at buildings of religious significance and compare the features of the different types of houses. Along the way they also had the opportunity to interview a local postman. All in all a good mornings detecting.
Please make sure that your child has 20p (50p to call a mobile) so that they can make a phone call if needed e.g. forgotten PE Kits, lunch money, staying for clubs etc.
Our pupils got a taste of Jurassic times when they came face to face with a visiting growling dinosaur.
The live dinosaur show featured stunningly realist animatronic puppetry allowing the children to experience something truly unforgettable. The children were also introduced to a range of
animals including, spiders, lizards and snakes.
£9.50 per week
Please make cheques payable to Initial Catering.
