Money In The bank!

Sports News

Westfield’s very own branch of HSBC UK bank was officially opened last week by Branch Manager, Towheed and his staff.

Each week HSBC UK operates from the school library for an hour for pupils to open their own saving accounts, deposit money and even apply for a debit card. They are offered advice and help on how to manage their money. Former Westfield pupil Syed Uddin and Chloe Grix, Universal Bankers

from HSBC UK’s Bedford branch, have worked with the school

to put the bank in place. Pupils were invited to apply for different

positions within the school bank and applicants underwent a

proper interview process. “We were incredibly impressed with the

lengths that the pupils went to in both their applications and their

interviews” said Syed Uddin. “They dressed in suits and came very well prepared with lots of information and questions. The standard was incredibly high.” Eight pupils were selected for roles, which include a Branch Manager, Assistant Manager, Universal Bankers and Cashiers - pictured right.
