Science is taught in two spacious, purpose built labs. Wherever possible we teach science on a practical basis. Scientific enquiry is the key to raising achievement in this subject and is taught across the three sections of the science curriculum, life processes and living things, materials and their properties and physical processes. Pupils are encouraged to practice research skills and investigate techniques alongside practical experimental work.
The pupils have access to a wildlife area, which contains a pond and pond dipping platform. We run an Eco-club every Monday where we identify and raise environmental issues within the school community and initiate projects, which will benefit our pupils’. We use our greenhouse to propagate plants for science lessons and to sell them to our pupils and staff.
